Course Registration Fee (CRF)

Credit students will pay a €10 CRF or the equivalent in USD to register for each course, no matter the location. Audit students (non-credit) will pay a €20 CRF for each course taken in Austria and a €15 CRF for each course taken at any course location in country.

Students who wish to cancel their course registration must inform the TCM office (if course is offered at Haus Edelweiss) or their national director (if course is offered at any course location in country) before the course begins. Students who cancel their course registration within two weeks of the first day of class or do not show up for the course must still pay the CRF. In addition, if textbooks or a “notarized” invitation (required for an Austrian visa) have been issued to a student who cancels their course registration then they must reimburse the TCM office for the full cost of the textbooks, notarized invitation (unless the visa application was denied), and related postage. No subsequent courses may be taken until the student has paid any outstanding (past due) fee or reimbursement.

Annual Institute Services Fee (AISF)

The AISF helps cover student services provided by TCM associated with active student administration and support, research tools and resources, technology, thesis and project supervision, etc. The AISF must be paid by each student, beginning with the year the student is admitted into a program and ending with the year the student graduates from a program.

The AISF rates by country are as follows:

€60 – Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Poland

€40 – Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Russia (west), Ukraine

€20 – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia (east), Uzbekistan

All other countries will be determined as needed.

Combined CRF-AISF Option

If a student desires, they can choose to make one combined (lump-sum) CRF and AISF payment annually, instead of separate CRF and AISF payments. Under this option the student can register for as many courses as they wish during the school (calendar) year without any additional fees. This option would benefit the student who takes more than two courses during a school year.

The Combined CRF-AISF rates by country are as follows:

€80 – Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Poland

€60 – Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Russia (west), Ukraine

€40 – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia (east), Uzbekistan

All other countries will be determined as needed.

CRF and AISF Payment Methods

Payment can be made in person at the TCM office in Austria, or to a student’s national director in country, or by wire transfer to the TCM International Institute bank account:

Bank: Sparkasse (Baden, Austria)

Bankleitzahl: 20205

BIC (SWIFT): SPBDAT21

Account: 0700-160104

IBAN: AT942020500700160104

Subject: Name (Last, First) & CRF, AISF, or Combined CRF-AISF

All payments are non-refundable. Any exemption or adjustment to these fees must be approved by the TCM administration in consultation with the respective national director.

The annual payment due date (deadline) for the Annual Institute Services Fee (AISF) or the Combined CRF and AISF is January 31, unless a student is admitted into a program after that date, in which case the student has 6-weeks from the date of admission to make the annual payment. No subsequent courses may be taken until the student has paid any outstanding (past due) fee or reimbursement.

These student fees and payments apply to all credit students, no matter their year of admission.

ANNUAL FEE PAYMENT AND
REINSTATEMENT OF INACTIVE STUDENTS

Students who wish to defer their studies for a short time (1 or 2 years) due to any one of a number of issues such as illness, raising a family, lack of finance, job relocation, etc. may request a deferment of their studies in the following way:

  1. A written (or electronic) letter or email is sent to the Dean via the Registrar asking for a deferment of studies.
  2. The Dean will make a decision on the request for deferment, taking all matters into consideration.
  3. The Register will notify the student and the National Director of the decision and a copy of the notification will be placed in the student’s file and on their electronic student record.
  4. The student will remain on the active student status during the deferment period (1 or 2 years).
  5. A student will be placed on an inactive student list and their status changed to Inactive if she/he has not taken a course for five or more consecutive years.

In normal circumstances students will continue to pay the annual fee during the deferment of studies period.

If a student cannot pay the annual fee during the period of deferment, they may apply for an exemption from the Student Annual Fee the following way:

  1. 1. A written (or electronic) letter or email is sent to the Dean via the Registrar asking for an exemption from payment of the Annual Fee giving the reasons for such a request.
  2. 2. The Dean will make a decision on the request for an exemption, taking all matters into consideration.
  3. 3. The Registrar will notify the student of the decision, the business office in Austria, and the National Director’s office.

If a student is on the inactive list and desires to resume active status, then this is possible with the following conditions:

  1. A written (or electronic) letter or email is sent to the Dean via the Registrar asking for reinstatement.
  2. The current annual fee is paid and any other outstanding student fees.
  3. Studies are continued under the conditions of the catalog of the year in which the reinstatement will take place.
  4. All credited courses are carried over and applied to the student’s reinstated program of studies.
